Linings are the thickness of the material which plays an essential part in the quality of hand sewn ball. Several linings are placed between the cover and the bladder. Layers of linings in professional soccer ball are four. Lining layers provide strength, bounce and structure.
The bladder in soccer balls is one component which holds air. The bladder is made of latex or butyl. Butyl bladder holds air for longer but latex bladder provides better surface tension. But the butyl bladders in soccer balls have a great combination of air retention and contact quality.
